Residential Services

The focus in this program is to provide experience, exposure, and education to support people in making choices in their life that enable them to follow their dreams and desires while ensuring their health, welfare, and safety. The Human Service Agency offers people a continuum of levels of support settings. The settings include:

- Community Residential Facilities provide supports on a 24 hour, seven day a week basis. People in this setting require the greatest amount of supports. People require supports in most of their daily living activities as well as community activities. There are five homes with two of them classified as a retirement home. People living in the retirement home do not benefit from a full day of work. People supported can participate in activities, cooking, laundry, personal hygiene, communication, leisure activities, socialization, and safety skills training.

- Supervised Apartments are located in each of the community residential facilities. Supervised apartments are supported 24 hours a day, seven days a week. People supported here do not require as many supports. Supports continue to be provided in this setting to prepare for independent community living.

-Alternative Houses have staff available during waking hours. People supported in this setting do not need staff support at all times. People spend varying amounts of time in their home without staff present. There is a staff who works at the house during waking hours but they may take someone to run errands or get groceries while their roommates are at home without another staff being present. The agency supports people in 3 houses in this setting. The houses are rented from community members by the people who live in them.
