The WTFC is a community/school partnership coalition funded by the South Dakota Department of Health - Tobacco Control Program. The coalition provides tobacco prevention educaton to the Watertown community. We meet the 1st Wednesday of the month at noon at the Human Service Agency.

Building Stronger Hearts

Offers Programs for heart patients of all ages in the general region of northeastern SD. These programs deal with screening, rehabilitation, welfare, and health. This is done in order to identify and to assist those afflicted in adjusting themselves to their environment, to aid them in all their activities, and to be of assistance in solving their particular problems.

Watertown DASH is an acronym for Drug free, Alcohol free, Safe and Healthy, and the mission is: "To challenge community partnerships to lead by example and to empower Watertown youth to choose to live healthy and positive lifestyles." We host or support a variety of Run 5Ks/Walks, and provide youth scholarships and youth activities, such as DARE classes and Teen Police Academy.

My Happy Place

Our goal is to be part of the emotional healing of children affected by illness and disease, by providing them with a happy and safe place to heal. We work closely with the child and family to design and redecorate a personalized bedroom or space within the family's home. The family will fill this space with items that are meaningful to the child and in a style they choose; this can include items that can be brought to hospitals or treatment facilities if needed. Our goal is provide "My Happy Place" for each child involved.

Brothers & Sisters Behind Bars

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are working to break the chain of addiction through building healthy relationships, advocacy, and providing essentail unmet basic needs for those struggling with addiction in Watertown. The unmet needs of people leaving jail provided by BSBB are: transportation, mentoring - while in jail and after release, medication, transitional housing - for up to 6 months, healthy social and recreational opportunities, Bible study and small group exercises, and weekly Saturday breakfast served 10am - 12noon at the old Grant School (612 3rd St NE).
