The corporation became the Human Service Agency as new programs were added including Alcohol and Drug Treatment and New Horizons.
Al Wylie, executive director of HSA since its inception, retired and was replaced by Dr. Charles Sherman.
Serenity Hills Halfway House and Detox Center opens,the first dual-diagnosis facility of its kind in SD.
HSA opens a Safe Room as an alternative to a jail setting for those in a mental health crisis. This was the first in a free standing facility in SD.
New Horizons develops a Conflict Free Case Management (CFCM) program serving Brookings, Madison, and Aberdeen.
The Human Service Agency offers services to over 2700 individuals a year in Watertown, Sisseton, and Milbank.
Dr. Charles Sherman retired after 27 years at HSA and was replaced by Kari Johnston as the new Executive Director
Broke ground to build the ARF/Serenity Hills/CARE building on the Main Agency campus.
